Israeli envoy’s interview with Goswami is Indo-Israel attempt to malign Pakistan: Analysts

Islamabad: Political analysts have described the recent interview of the Israeli Ambassador to India, Roeeven Azar, by Indian media as a deliberate attempt to misrepresent Pakistan’s position regarding the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

According to Kashmir Media Service, analysts say Azar’s interview with Arnab Goswami was carefully orchestrated to achieve multiple objectives: denting Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations, attempting to draw Pakistan into regional conflicts, branding Pakistan’s nuclear program as “rogue,” and aligning Indian and Israeli narratives to portray Pakistan as a regional threat.

Analysts note that the underlying message sought to signal joint Indo-Israel collaboration against Pakistan.

Commenting on the interview, analysts highlighted that the envoy’s repeated references to “two rogue states” implicitly targeted Pakistan, while flippantly raising its nuclear program to convey a latent threat. They observed that this reflects a wider strategy by New Delhi and Tel Aviv to influence regional perceptions against Pakistan and pressure it diplomatically.

They said Pakistan has made it clear on number of occasions that its relations with Saudi Arabia and Iran are built on historical brotherhood, religious affinity, and decades-long defence and economic partnerships, including the Strategic Military Defence Agreement.

Pakistan has consistently supported justice and international law, particularly in protecting Palestinian rights, while Israel has long aided India, including in operations like Operation Sindoor, revealing Israeli machinations against Pakistan.

Analysts also stressed that Pakistan, as an established nuclear state with credible deterrence, will not be intimidated by threats. They underlined that the Indo-Israel narrative fails to account for Islamabad’s role as a regional peace-maker and its longstanding diplomatic influence in West Asia, including support for Arab nations and balanced engagement with Iran.
