Anil Ambani questioned by CBI over Reliance Communications fraud case

New Delhi: Industrialist Anil Ambani is facing scrutiny from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) over allegations of fund diversion and misappropriation linked to Reliance Communications Ltd. (RCOM).
According to Kashmir Media Service, the probe follows a complaint from the State Bank of India (SBI), with Ambani appearing at the CBI headquarters for questioning. The CBI alleges irregularities in loan funds issued to RCOM, with Ambani pledging full cooperation.
Ambani’s business dealings have often been under the microscope, particularly his association with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Critics have pointed out that Ambani’s conglomerate, Reliance Group, has benefited significantly from government policies and contracts.
The CBI’s investigation into Ambani’s affairs is part of a broader crackdown on corporate irregularities in India. Ambani’s spokesperson has stated that he is committed to cooperating with the investigation.
