IIOJK people continue to suffer in dual control system: Bhalla

Jammu: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, District Congress Committee, Jammu, held an important strategy meeting in Jammu to discuss public-related issues as well as measures to intensify to fight for restoration of statehood to the territory.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Working President of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir chapter Congress Raman Bhalla was chief guest while DCC President Yogesh Sawhney presided over the meeting.

Raman Bhalla addressing the meeting said people continue to suffer in the absence of statehood, as the dual control system is responsible for the unrest amongst the people and the sufferings of different sections of society. There is no accountability in the administration due to the prevailing dual control system, he added.

He said the Modi government promised time to time to restore statehood without delay, especially after assembly elections, but even after one and half years of elections and elected government taking over, the Modi regime has no intention to fulfill the promise. He said people will have to fight for their rights and get back their status, dignity and identity as a full-fledged state.

He urged Block and Ward Committees to garner support of the people for achieving the goal of early restoration of statehood. Raman Bhalla suggested various strategies and programs to strengthen the Congress party’s groundwork in Jammu district.
