India’s close Israel ties limit West Asia mediatory role, Omar decries Delhi’s foreign policy

Srinagar: In what is believed to be harsh criticism of India’s foreign policy, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said India could have played a role in the West Asia conflict similar to Pakistan’s, had its ties with Israel not been so close.
According to Kashmir Media Service, speaking at an event in Srinagar, Abdullah emphasized that the US must rein in Israel for a ceasefire to hold. “The conflict wasn’t started by Iran, but imposed on it. If the ceasefire fails, it’ll be Israel’s fault,” Abdullah said, criticizing US President Donald Trump’s inconsistent statements.
“He says one thing in the morning, another in the afternoon… The language doesn’t suit a president,” Abdullah added, “Only Israel needed this war.
Perhaps India could have played a role like Pakistan if our relations with Israel weren’t so close.”
