Mirwaiz visits fire-hit madrassa in Srinagar, terms incident unfortunate

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference senior leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq today visited the fire-affected Madrassa Ashraf-ul-Uloom at Hyderpora in Srinagar where a blaze broke out, causing major damage to two floors of the madrassa and parts of the adjoining mosque.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, expressing concern over the loss, termed the incident unfortunate. He, however, expressed relief and gratitude to Almighty Allah that no student or staff member was harmed. “We are thankful to Allah that all students are safe,” he said.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq conveyed his solidarity with the management and locals, and urged the authorities and the community to extend support for the early restoration of the madrassa.

He also appealed to people to pray and come forward with assistance so that the institution is rebuilt at the earliest.
