No alternative to dialogue, says Mehbooba Mufti

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti has said that there is no alternative to dialogue.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mehbooba Mufti, speaking at the party’s “Kath Baath” interaction programme in Baramulla said, “By today or tomorrow or the day after, the Indian government understands that you can only oppress people by positioning Army at every place, or by imposing draconian laws like Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), Public Safety Act (PSA) or Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). But if you want to win their hearts, there is no alternative to dialogue.”
She said the current Generation Z in the territory is highly aware and well-informed, and can achieve significant progress if provided a supportive platform free from fear.
Mehbooba Mufti expressed optimism about the capabilities of young people, noting that they have broad exposure and the potential to amplify the voice of occupied Jammu and Kashmir on larger platforms if given the opportunity.
She said that she was encouraged by the confidence and articulation of Gen Z participants, adding their awareness can play a key role in shaping the future of the territory. KMS—2A
