J&K Liberation Alliance strongly condemns ban on Shopian madrassa
Srinagar: The Jammu Kashmir Liberation Alliance (JKLA) has strongly condemned the Indian regime’s decision to impose a ban on Jamia Siraj-ul-Uloom in Shopian and the raid conducted on the historic Islamic seminary.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement issued from Srinagar, JKLA spokesman Sajjad Mir described the Indian move as an open assault on religious and educational freedom in occupied Kashmir. He said the occupying Indian administration is systematically targeting Kashmiri people’s identity, faith, and basic rights through such repressive actions.
Sajjad Mir stated that these measures constitute a grave violation of human rights and are further increasing unrest and tension in the region. He warned that the continued targeting of religious institutions and the violation of fundamental rights will only lead to greater instability across the territory.
The JKLA leader urged the international community and the United Nations to take immediate notice of the deteriorating situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and initiate practical steps towards a just and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
He cautioned that the ongoing series of bans on religious institutions and suppression of basic rights could further escalate instability in the occupied territory. Sajjad Mir reiterated the resolve of the Kashmiri people, saying they will continue their struggle for the right to self-determination and will not bow down to any pressure.
