Indian army vehicle crushes toddler to death in Sopore

Srinagar: An Indian army vehicle deliberately hit and killed a three-year-old male child in Sopore town of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the child, identified as Mohammad Zain, was hit and killed by the vehicle in the Gund Brath area of the town.

The child was immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital Sopore for treatment, where he was declared dead on arrival.

The incident sparked strong protests by the child’s family members and local residents, who demanded strict action against the personnel involved.

Residents said such incidents have occurred repeatedly in Kashmir, yet those responsible have rarely been held accountable. Observers of the situation in the occupied territory describe the incident as part of a disturbing pattern of civilians, including children, being killed or injured in vehicle-related incidents involving Indian forces in populated areas.

They said the recurring incidents have deepened fear and insecurity among the local population, adding that the killing of the toddler reflects the climate of impunity and repression prevailing in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
