Woman gang-raped in moving bus in BJP-ruled New Delhi

New Delhi: A 30-year-old woman was gang-raped inside a moving private sleeper bus by its driver and conductor in the Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled Indian capital, New Delhi.
According to Kashmir Media Service, fourteen years after the Nirbhaya gang rape case, Delhi witnessed another horrific incident after a 30-year-old woman was gang-raped inside a moving private sleeper bus.
The victim, mother of three children and a resident of the Pitampura slums, was returning home after finishing her evening shift at a local factory in Mangolpuri when she was dragged into the bus near the B-Block bus stand in Saraswati Vihar.
The distance between Mangolpuri and Pitampura is around 5 kilometer. The incident has raised fresh questions over BJP and its Delhi Police claims regarding night patrolling and surveillance for the safety of residents.
According to the victim’s statement, she was forcibly pulled inside the bus, after which the accused shut the door and instructed the driver to move the vehicle. Inside the moving bus, two men raped her repeatedly. The ordeal reportedly continued for nearly seven kilometer till Nangloi Metro station.
The police said after sexually assaulting the victim for nearly two hours, the accused dumped her in an injured condition on the roadside around 2:00am and fled. The woman later made a PCR call and narrated the incident to the police at Rani Bagh police station,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Vikram Singh said in a video message.
