Body of missing girl recovered in Ganderbal, family suspects foul play

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the body of a missing teenage girl was recovered from a power canal in Ganiwan area of Kangan, raising suspicion of foul play among family members and locals.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the girl, a resident of Syed Basti Surfraw Gund, had been missing since May 15. Her disappearance had sparked concern in the area, prompting her family to approach the police. After several days of searching a stretch from Sumbal Bala to Kangan, the body was retrieved from the canal at Ganiwan on Saturday afternoon.
Police shifted the body for medico-legal formalities and initiated inquest proceedings to ascertain the circumstances of the death.
Locals said the manner in which the girl went missing and her body was found in the canal has raised doubts, with the family demanding a thorough investigation into possible foul play.
A pall of gloom descended on the area when the body reached her home.
