Body of Srinagar man recovered from Lidder River in Pahalgam after six days

Srinagar : In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the body of a Srinagar resident who drowned in the Lidder River while attempting to save his son near Pahalgam has been recovered six days after the tragic incident.

According to Kashmir Media Service, 42-year-old Muhammad Ashraf Mir, a resident of Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar, drowned last Sunday after rescuing his son, Fahad, from the swift currents of the Lidder River at the renowned tourist resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir’s Islamabad district.

While his son was successfully saved, Mir was swept away by the strong river currents.

After an extensive search operation, rescue teams recovered his body today from the Ashmuqam area, bringing to an end a six-day searcg for the missing man.
