Baramulla SSP orders probe after advocate’s altercation with police in Baramulla

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla has ordered a detailed inquiry into allegations of misconduct by police personnel during an incident involving an advocate at Kunzer Police Station in Baramulla district.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident took place on June 10 at village Dhobiwan, where a party from the police station, Kunzer, was executing a status-quo order.
“Legal and preventive proceedings were initiated in accordance with law during the course of the execution of the order,” a police officer said.
An altercation later broke out inside the police station between an advocate and the police personnel, following which allegations were raised regarding the conduct of the personnel during the incident, officials said.
The SSP, Gurinderpal Singh, has directed a detailed inquiry into the entire sequence of events to ensure complete transparency, fairness and objectivity, the official said.
