Asif Jalal takes over as new IG BSF Jammu region
Jammu: Senior IPS officer Asif Jalal has taken over as the new Inspector General of Border Security Force (BSF) Jammu region.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Jalal replaced IG Shashank Anand. The BSF Jammu region guards Jammu, Samba, Kathua and parts of Rajouri and Poonch districts.
The farewell-cum-welcome function was attended by senior officers of Indian Army, CRPF, SSB, CISF, NIA, Police and civil administration.
Jal, a 2002 batch Himachal Pradesh cadre IPS officer, was appointed IG BSF in February 2022 and will remain on deputation with BSF till September 2027.
