Civil society denounces BJP’s anti-Kashmiri hate speeches in IIOJK
Srinagar: Civil society members, including former Bar Association General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Shaheen, have strongly condemned the BJP leaders’ anti-Kashmiri speeches and slogans raised in Islamabad district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK),, describing them as a reflection of the saffron party’s hatred towards the Kashmiri people.
According to Kashmir Media Service, they said that the inflammatory speeches and slogans, including those targeting Kashmiri mothers and sisters, exposed the BJP’s anti-Kashmir mindset and were aimed at humiliating and intimidating the people of the occupied territory.
They said no self-respecting Kashmiri could tolerate such abusive and toxic rhetoric and provocative sloganeering that undermines the honour and dignity of the Kashmiri people. They termed the remarks highly offensive and warned that such hate-filled campaigns would only deepen alienation.
The civil society members said those responsible for raising the offensive slogans should be booked under the law and brought to justice, urging the authorities to take immediate punitive action instead of remaining silent spectators.
They said the BJP has crossed all moral, political and human limits by targeting the honour and dignity of Kashmiris day in and day out through inflammatory speeches, hate campaigns and politically motivated rallies.
They further said the abusive sloganeering by BJP leaders was part of a wider strategy to intimidate Kashmiris and create an atmosphere of fear and hostility in the occupied territory. “Every Kashmiri feels deeply hurt and outraged by these humiliating and derogatory slogans. Such conduct is unacceptable, condemnable and has no place in any civilized society,” they added.
