Syed Ali Gilani never deviated from his principled stance: Speakers
Lahore: A special prayer ceremony was organized by Kashmir Center, Lahore, on the occasion of the 5th martyrdom anniversary of senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Gilani.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the ceremony paid glowing tributes to Syed Ali Gilani’s long and steadfast struggle, sacrifices and eternal services for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people.
The ceremony was addressed by former member of AJK Legislative Assembly Maulana Shafi Josh, APHC-AJK chapter leader Engineer Mushtaq Mahmood, renowned journalist Farooq Bhatti, Senior Vice President of PML-N Lawyers Wing Syed Manzoor Gilani Advocate, In charge of Kashmir Center, Lahore, Inaam-ul-Hasan Kashmiri, General Secretary of PML-N, Lahore Division, Mirza Farooq Jarral, Hurriyat leader Syed Sajjad Shah, and renowned writer Nazar Bhandar.
On this occasion, the speakers said that Syed Ali Gilani dedicated his entire life to achieving the fundamental right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people and despite adverse circumstances, long imprisonment and restrictions, he never deviated from his principled stance.
They said Syed Ali Gilani’s struggle is a shining example of determination, perseverance and steadfastness. They said that Syed Ali Gilani firmly believed that the Kashmiri people should have the right to decide their political future and he played a full role in highlighting the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people in his life and made unparalleled sacrifices for this purpose.
The speakers said the death of Syed Ali Gilani was a great loss for the Kashmiri movement, however, the memory of his thoughts, struggle and sacrifices is still alive in the hearts of the Kashmiri people.
They said Syed Ali Gilani’s life is a message of courage, perseverance and steadfastness to the new generation and demanded that the government of Pakistan highlight the Kashmir dispute more effectively at the global level and continue to provide political, diplomatic and moral support to the Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination.
At the end of the ceremony, special prayers were offered for the elevation of Syed Ali Gilani’s rank, forgiveness and success in the struggle of the Kashmiri people.
