Failure to restore IIOJK statehood would betray Kashmiris: Surinder Choudhary

Urges BJP-led Indian government to honour its commitments

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary has urged the BJP-led Indian government to fulfill its commitments to restore statehood to the territory, warning that failure to do so will amount to a betrayal not only to the Kashmiri people but also of the Indian parliament and judiciary.

According to Kashmir Media Service, speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function in Srinagar, Surinder Choudhary expressed hope that New Delhi would honour its commitments regarding the restoration of statehood to IIOJK. He said the issue was among several matters raised by the occupied territory’s Chief Minister Omar Abdullah during his recent meeting with Indian Home Minister Amit Shah.
