Mehbooba calls for end to double standards in international justice
PDP chief questions India-led BRICS’ silence over Israeli atrocities in Gaza

New Delhi: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti has questioned BRICS’s silence over Israel’s ongoing atrocities in Gaza and the US-Israeli attack on Iran
Mehbooba, in a post on X, said India, as the current BRICS chair, should have demonstrated “courage and true leadership” by supporting a resolution that unequivocally condemned Israel’s actions in Gaza and the US-Israeli attack on Iran.
She said terrorism could not be condemned selectively, stressing that civilian blood had no nationality and international justice could not be based on double standards.
Mehbooba’s remarks have brought renewed focus on the selective application of international norms, particularly as civilian casualties and humanitarian suffering continue to mount in Gaza and amid the fallout from the US-Israeli military action against Iran
