IIOJK Bank officers, employees protest for 5-day work week
Jammu: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, ahead of scheduled all India bank strike on September 28, 29 and 30, 2026, the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), consisting of 7 unions of Bank employees and officers, held a massive demonstration in Jammu.
Many bank officers and employees participated in the protest demonstration, which was addressed by the leaders of United Forum of Bank Unions.
Speaking on occasion, Rajesh Mehta, Secretary, All India Bank Officers’ Confederation (AIBOC), Jammu and Kashmir, said they are demanding approval of the authorities for implementation of a 5- day work week in the banking industry and declaring the remaining Saturdays as holidays as recommended by the Indian Banks’ Association.
Rajesh Mehta said this has been duly recommended to the authorities but unfortunately it is pending for approval for the past two years.
