Blast at forest officer’s residence in Imphal, KCP claims responsibility

Imphal: An early-morning blast occurred at the residence of a forest officer in Imphal, Manipur, with the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) claiming responsibility for the incident.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the blast took place at the residence of Oinam Pamheiba, Forest Range Officer of Noney district, at Kongba Kshetri Leikai in Imphal.

In a statement issued to the media, the KCP alleged that the blast followed a dispute involving demands made to the forest officer. The outfit also issued a threat against another forest official, Takhelambam Tiken.

The claims and allegations contained in the KCP statement could not be independently verified. Police and other authorities have yet to provide further details about the incident or publicly comment on the outfit’s claim of responsibility.
