Hindutva outfits attempt to storm Bangladesh mission in Delhi

Srinagar: In India, activists of RSS-backed Hindutva outfits, including the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal, attempted to storm the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi, further straining diplomatic relations between the two countries.
According to Kashmir Media Service, hundreds of VHP and Bajrang Dal activists carrying saffron flags and raising provocative slogans marched towards the Bangladesh High Commission to protest what they said the killing of a Hindu man in Bangladesh.
Protesters pushed through barricades, leading to scuffles with police.
Bangladesh’s Foreign Ministry earlier expressed concern over incidents targeting its diplomatic missions in India, including vandalism at its Visa Application Centre in Siliguri and demonstrations outside the High Commissioner’s residence in New Delhi, attributing them to extremist elements.
The Hindutva protesters threatened to escalate agitation if their demands were not met, underscoring the aggressive posture of extremist outfits in India’s political landscape.
Observers say the episode highlights how incidents beyond India’s borders are increasingly exploited by Hindutva groups to promote intolerance and mob politics, while authorities largely focus on crowd control rather than curbing extremist narratives at home.
