IIOJK: Migratory Waterfowl Begin Arriving in Lakes and Wetlands
Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, migratory waterfowl have begun arriving, adding spectacular charm to the lakes and wetlands across the territory.
A large number of migratory birds have arrived at Wular Lake, the largest lake in Asia, located in the occupied valley, further enhancing its natural beauty. These species include ducks, swans and cranes.
Migratory birds have also begun arriving at the Shalabugh wetland in Ganderbal district, as well as at the Hokersar, Mirgund and Haigam wetlands, bringing renewed vibrancy to these areas. Thousands of colourful birds can now be seen across these lakes and wetlands.
Experts note that more migratory birds have arrived in Kashmir this year than last year. Most have travelled from Siberia, Eastern Europe, the Philippines and China, finding the winter climate of the Kashmir Valley well suited to their needs.
These visiting birds offer a breathtaking spectacle for local residents, who flock to see them with great enthusiasm.
