Attack on Kashmir-Bound Passenger Bus in Indian State of Haryana Condemned

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, various political leaders have condemned an attack on a passenger bus travelling from the Indian state of Haryana to Srinagar, demanding strict action against those involved.

All Parties Hurriyat Conference senior leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq expressed concern over the attack in a post on X, formerly Twitter, noting that an elderly passenger was injured, while the other passengers were left in a state of severe shock, fear and terror.

He said, “Saddened to learn about the attack on a Kashmir-bound bus in Haryana, in which an elderly passenger was injured. There is growing concern among the public regarding reports of threats directed at vehicles registered in Jammu and Kashmir. Authorities must ensure the safety of Kashmiri travellers and take immediate, stringent legal action against those responsible.”

The president of Anjuman Sharie Shian, Agha Syed Hassan Al Moosvi Al-Safvi, strongly condemned the attack on a Kashmir-bound passenger bus near Kurukshetra in the Indian state of Haryana.

Moosvi Concerned Over Threats Targeting Kashmiri Travellers

Expressing serious concern over reports of threats and harassment targeting Kashmiri travellers, he urged the Haryana government and the authorities concerned to ensure the safety and security of passengers and take swift and strict legal action against those responsible.

He emphasised that no individual should face intimidation, harassment or violence on the basis of regional identity. He said the safety, dignity and constitutional rights of Kashmiri travellers must be protected at all costs.

Inam Nabi, a spokesperson for the Awami Ittehad Party (AIP), wrote a letter to Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, demanding the registration of a First Information Report (FIR), the arrest of those responsible and compensation for the damage caused to the bus.

It is worth noting that unidentified individuals attacked a passenger bus bound for Srinagar in the Indian state of Haryana, which is currently governed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The bus was carrying approximately 40 people when the assailants pelted it with stones and bricks. An elderly Kashmiri passenger sustained injuries in the incident, while the other passengers were gripped by intense fear and panic.
