Vibrant rally marks Kashmir Solidarity Day in Islamabad
Islamabad: As a powerful token of demonstration of solidarity on Kashmir Day on part of Pakistan, a vibrant rally was taken out from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad, today.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the streets resonated with patriotic tunes, melodies, and impassioned chants, as participants voiced their support for the freedom of Kashmir and unity among its people.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the rally was led by the Foreign Secretary, Sairs Sajjad Qazi and spokesperson Muzammil Zahra Baloch.
Federal Ministers Murtaza Solangi, Jamal Shah, Aniq Ahmed and Fawad Hassan Fawad also joined the rally. The Foreign Office employees participated in large numbers, proudly waving the flags of both Pakistan and Azad Kashmir.
Even the young participants from Pakistan Sweet Homes contributed their enthusiasm to the event. A minute of silence was observed outside the Parliament House, followed by the blaring of sirens in support of Kashmiris.
Information Minister Murtaza Solangi addressed the gathering, expressing Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the Kashmiri cause. He emphasized that the Kashmiri people are resilient in their quest for self-determination, standing side by side with them. Solangi recalled the historical context, highlighting the demand for self-determination in 1947 and the subsequent forceful annexation by India, against which the Kashmiri voices were raised.
Solangi declared, “Kashmir is not a graveyard; it is a symbol of resilience against Indian oppression. The struggle against forced annexation did not end in 1947; even in the face of the infamous 1987 rigged elections, Kashmiris raised their voices. This is the fourth generation facing the brutality of Indian oppression, and we stand united with them.”
Mahmood Ahmed Saghar, the coordinator of the Free Jammu and Kashmir branch of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, praised the resilience of Kashmiris, stating, “Kashmir, the world’s largest open-air prison, holds thousands of Kashmiri prisoners, but we will not lose hope. We express gratitude for standing with us; today, we have sacrificed over 300,000 lives for our cause.”
In his closing remarks, Sagar sought to dispel the notion that Kashmiris are alone, saying, “We want to tell everyone that Kashmir is not alone in this struggle.” The rally aimed to reinforce the collective commitment to the cause of Kashmir and emphasize the urgency of addressing the long-standing issue on the global stage.
