Thousands take to streets in IIOJK against Israeli aggression in Gaza
Srinagar: Thousands took to the streets in parts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir to protest against Israel’s siege and relentless bombing of the Gaza Strip, demanding an end to the oppression of innocent Palestinian people.
According to Kashmir Media Service, demonstrators waved Palestinian flags and held posters with slogans such as ‘From Land to Sea, Palestine Will Be Free’ and ‘Stand in Solidarity with Palestine’. In Budgam, a massive rally was organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman-E-Sharie Shian, with scores of women and children participating.
Addressing the gathering, Anjuman Sharie Shian President Agha Syed Hassan Moosvi Al-Safvi criticized the world community for supporting Israel’s oppression of Palestinians and urged Muslim countries to unite for the Palestinian cause. “Raising our voices for Palestinians is the responsibility of Muslims and a part of their faith,” he added.
In Magam, District Budgam, supporters also took to the streets demanding Muslim world leaders to “break the chains of silence”. Speaking at the solidarity march, Agha Syed Mujtaba Abbas emphasized the urgent need for a permanent humanitarian ceasefire with unrestricted access for lifesaving aid, the release of all hostages, and the protection of civilians. He concluded, “We must be united in demanding an end to the occupation and blockade of Gaza.”
