Civil rights groups, political parties, students unite in solidarity with Palestine Protesters criticize Indian govt’s support for Israel
New Delhi: Hundreds of people gathered at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi to protest the ongoing war in Palestine and show solidarity with the Palestinian people.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the protest, organized by civil rights organizations, student collectives, and political factions, denounced the “genocidal war” in the region and demanded an end to Israeli aggression.
Speakers at the protest, including CPI-M general secretary Sitaram Yechury and Delhi Deputy Mayor Aaley Mohammad Iqbal, criticized the Indian government’s support for Israel and called for international pressure to stop the offensive. Protesters chanted slogans and held up placards and Palestinian flags, expressing their support for Palestinian liberation and opposition to Israeli occupation.
The protest was part of a global movement, with similar demonstrations taking place in the US, Europe, and other parts of the world. Organizers vowed to continue the protests until Israel ends its “war” with Hamas, which they characterized as a genocide against Palestinians.
