Siblings from IIOJK receive prestigious fellowship in UK

 

London: In a remarkable achievement, two siblings from Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have been awarded the esteemed fellowship by the Royal College of Psychiatrists in London, UK.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Dr. Sarfaraz and Dr. Shaheen Aslam, both accomplished psychiatrists, have made their mark in the field of mental health care.

Dr. Sarfaraz, a consultant psychiatrist from Srinagar, excels in Intensive Care at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust. He also holds esteemed positions as Director of Medical Education, Deputy Medical Director, and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds.

Dr. Shaheen, an alumnus of Soura Medical College, specializes in Old Age Psychiatry at Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. She serves as Clinical Director of Specialist Services in Hertfordshire and executive member of the Old Age faculty at the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Her research focuses on dementia and enhancing patient care safety and quality. Currently, she holds the position of General Secretary at the British Kashmiri Medical Association.

The siblings expressed profound gratitude and humility upon receiving the fellowship together, acknowledging the unwavering support of their parents, Haji Mohammad Aslam Shora and Mrs. Sharifa Akhtar Bhat. They dedicated the award to their parents, recognizing their invaluable encouragement throughout their lives.
