Indian BSF troops shoot dead civilian in Samba
Jammu: Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel shot dead a 26-year-old man in Samba district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident occurred late Friday night in the Regal Border Post area along the Working Boundary.
The deceased has been identified as Vasudeva, a resident of Akhnoor area of Jammu district. He was working as a cook in a company engaged in some construction work in the border area. According to his colleagues, he was shot in the chest while going outside his tent to relieve himself.
In this regard, Indian officials said that a preliminary inquiry suggested that Vasudeva was mistaken for an intruder from across the border, leading to the fatal shooting. He was rushed to District Hospital, Samba, where he was declared dead by the doctors, the officials said.
This incident raises concerns about the use of force by BSF personnel and the safety of civilians in the border areas.
