Maharashtra: 2 Indian troops killed, 7 injured in Nagpur road accident

: Two Indian army men were killed and seven others, including six troops, were injured in a road accident in Maharashtra state.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the accident occurred when a speeding private bus collided with an auto-rickshaw in Nagpur city of the state. The army men were travelling in the auto-rickshaw, which was severely damaged in the accident.
Altogether, 15 troops from the Guards Regiment Center at Kamtee, about 20 km from Nagpur, had gone shopping to Kanhan in two auto-rickshaws, an official said. On their return, a bus collided with one of the autos at Kanhan River Bridge in Nagpur, he added.
Of the eight troops in the auto, Vighnesh and Dheeraj Rai succumbed to their injuries during treatment, he said. The other injured troops identified as Din Pradhan, Kumar P, Shekhar Jadhav, Arvind, Murugan, and Nagaratnam are undergoing treatment. The condition of some of the injured army men is said to be critical. Auto driver Shankar Kharakban is also in a serious condition.
After the accident, angry locals vandalized the bus and blocked the Nagpur-Jabalpur Highway, the official said.
Maharashtra police have launched an investigation into the incident.
