Indian-origin Norwegian businessman linked to Lebanon pager blast

Beirut: A 37-year-old Indian-origin Norwegian citizen, Rinson Jose, has been implicated in the recent deadly pager blasts that rocked Lebanon on September 17.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the explosions, which killed at least 20 people and left thousands wounded, have triggered a global investigation spanning multiple countries, including Taiwan, Bulgaria, Norway, and Romania.

Jose, who originally hails from Wayanad in Kerala, is the owner of Bulgaria-based company Norta Global Limited. He is suspected of being involved in the supply chain for the pagers that were detonated during the incident.

Reports indicate that while the pagers were manufactured by Hungarian firm BAC Consulting under the trademark of Taiwanese company Gold Apollo, they were acquired through Jose’s company, Norta Global.

Telex, a Hungarian media outlet, revealed that “Although on paper it was BAC Consulting that signed the contract with Gold Apollo, Norta Global was actually the one behind the deal.” Despite these claims, Jose has gone missing since the blasts. KMS
