IIOJK people want a non-BJP, secular Government: Tarigami

Srinagar: After the exit polls projected a close contest in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Communist Party of India Marxist (CPI-M) candidate from Kulgam, Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami claimed that the public seek the formation of a non-BJP and secular government in the IIOJK.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Tarigami went on to say that the people IIOJK want a non-BJP government to be formed in the disputed land. They want to elect a government that will raise their voices. The public has given their mandate and the results will be announced on October 8 on expected lines,” the CPM leader said.

“Exit polls have their assessments and projections but we are waiting for the results. According to me, the mood of the people is to elect a secular government that fulfils the promises. It is also my opinion that non-BJP secular parties need to have the upper hand and win,” said Tarigami.

Tarigami also spoke on EAM S Jaishankar’s visit to Pakistan for the SCO Summit saying, “It is very good gesture that Jaishankar will be going to Pakistan to attend the SCO meeting. Both the countries should try to resolve tensions between them by holding talks with each other.” KMS—1IS
