Recognizing Pakistan as key stakeholder, Engineer Rasheed calls for “workable solution” to Kashmir dispute
Srinagar: Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) President and Indian parliament member Engineer Abdul Rasheed has emphasized the need for a “workable solution” to the Kashmir dispute, acknowledging Pakistan as a crucial stakeholder.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Engineer Rasheed, stressed that his party’s primary goal is to restore peace in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He dismissed speculation about aligning with the BJP, stating that power is not his priority. Instead, he aims to ensure an end to the killings in the occupied territory.
“Our identity which has been snatched from us should be given back, whether it is Article 370 or 35A, should be restored because it is our right…”
“…the people of Kashmir have always believed in democracy. They also wanted a democratic solution to the Kashmir issue”.
Engineer Rasheed attributed the voter turnout in Kashmir to the state repression. “The voting percentage has increased because people have been victims of state repression,” he said.
