Indian troops arrest two youth in IIOJK
Srinagar: Indian troops have arrested two youth in two different areas of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, personnel from the Indian army’s Rashtriya Rifles and paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force arrested a youth during a cordon and search operation at the Circular Road of the Pulwama district.
Another youth identified as Shahid Saleem Lone, 27, was arrested by the Indian forces at a checkpoint in Chhampura Handwara area of Kupwara district.
To justify the arrest, the troops alleged that the youth were pro-freedom activists.
However, such actions are part of a broader strategy by Indian authorities to intimidate the Kashmiris. The frequent detentions and arrests of people in IIOJK on various pretexts are perceived as efforts to suppress dissent and undermine the legitimate Kashmiris’ demand for self-determination.
