Four dead, 13 injured in Kishtwar road accident

Such accidents shatter Modi regime’s development claims

Jammu: Due to the dilapidated road conditions, four more people were killed and 13 others injured in a traffic accident in the Kishtwar district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the accident occurred when a vehicle, carrying employees of an under-construction power project company, veered off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in the Dangdoor area of Kishtwar.

Among the injured, two are reported to be in critical condition. The deceased have been identified as Zubair Ahmad, Arsalan, and Bilal Ahmad, while the fourth victim’s identity is yet to be confirmed.

In a separate incident, a forest guard named Abdul Fafar Sohil tragically lost his life after falling from a mountain in Banihal district.

Additionally, a 50-year-old man, Mohammad Shafi, was allegedly attacked with acid in the Shahjimarg area of Pulwama district.

Traffic accidents have become a frequent tragedy in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, primarily due to poor road conditions, overloading, and a lack of proper traffic management. In recent months, several deadly accidents have claimed numerous lives, particularly in hilly areas like Kishtwar, Doda, and Ramban, where narrow and poorly maintained roads are a common hazard.

Just last month, a bus carrying pilgrims overturned in Reasi district, killing eight people and injuring dozens. In another incident, a passenger vehicle plunged into a gorge in Poonch, resulting in six fatalities.

Such accidents negate the high claims of the Modi regime about so-called development in the occupied territory.
