Mushaal raises alarm over escalating HR abuses in IIOJK

Islamabad: Mushaal Hussein Malik, wife of incarcerated Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik, and Chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organization, expressed grave concerns over the worsening human rights situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mushaal Malik made these remarks while addressing a seminar organized by Islamabad Bar Council on International Human Rights Day.

Mushaal Malik emphasized the crucial role of lawyers in supporting Kashmir’s fight for self-determination, urging their involvement to help bring the freedom movement to fruition. She condemned the actions of the Modi-led Indian government, calling it a terrorist state that unlawfully detains Kashmiri leaders like Yasin Malik in politically motivated cases.

She also highlighted the increasing violence and abuses by Indian forces in the occupied territory, including killings, abductions, and torture of Kashmiri civilian. She pointed out the widespread extrajudicial killings, fake encounters, and arbitrary detentions that have become routine in IIOJK, yet the global community and human rights organizations have remained silent on Indian war crimes.

Mushaal called for immediate international intervention to address the human rights abuses in the territory and resolve the Kashmir dispute in line with international law and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
