BSF enhances surveillance along India-Bangladesh border amid rising tensions
Kolkata, December 25 (KMS): India’s Border Security Force (BSF) will significantly ramp up surveillance along the India-Bangladesh border amid escalating tensions between the two nations following the ouster of pro-India Sheikh Hasina Wajid from power.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Director-General Daljit Singh Chaudhary announced the decision following a high-level meeting in Kolkata.
The increased surveillance will focus on the unfenced stretches of the border, with heightened scrutiny of sensitive areas. Chaudhary emphasized that the BSF would enhance its use of CCTV surveillance, intensify patrolling, and bolster intelligence networks to prevent illegal border crossings.
“We are increasing our efforts in districts such as Nadia, Murshidabad, and North 24 Parganas, particularly along unfenced sections, to ensure better control and monitoring,” Chaudhary said.
The heightened vigilance comes amid growing concerns over cross-border issues and rising diplomatic tensions.
