Hindu Yatris depart for India after completing 7-day visit to Pakistan

Lahore: Hindu yatris, who had come to Pakistan to perform religious rituals, have completed their 7-day visit and departed for India through the Wagah border.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Additional Secretary (Shrines) of the Evacuee Trust Property board (ETPB), Saifullah Khokhar bid farewell to the Hindu yatris on behalf of Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain and the Chairman of the ETPB, Syed Atta-ur-Rehman. He presented them with special gifts and bouquets of flowers while wishing them well. The yatris, under tight security, traveled in special buses to the Wagah border.

Speaking before their departure, Yatri leader Vijay Kumar Sharma expressed gratitude, saying that they received a great deal of respect and love in Pakistan. He thanked Syed Atta-ur-Rehman, the Chairman of the ETPB, for his hospitality and extended a message to the global Hindu community to visit Pakistan and explore its religious places. Yuvakar Pandey, who arrived with the Indian delegation, stated that the construction of residential complexes has further enhanced the beauty of the Katas Raj Temple, and that the facilities provided to the yatris have significantly improved.

Other Hindu yatris shared their experiences with the media, stating that they were treated with immense respect and honor in Pakistan. They described Lahore as a beautiful city and said they felt inner peace while visiting their religious shrines in Katas Raj and Lahore. They also expressed their gratitude to the Government of Pakistan and the Evacuee Trust Property Board.

Additional Secretary Safullah Khokhar emphasized that the Evacuee Trust Property Board is always ready to promote religious tourism and provide hospitality to the yatris.
