Indian police attach properties of three Kashmiris in Rajouri
Jammu: In yet another instance of BJP-led Indian authorities’ ongoing policy to dispossess Kashmiris of their properties and suppress their political voice under draconian laws, the authorities have targeted the property of three Kashmiris in Rajouri district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Kashmir Media Service, the authorities, headed by India-installed communal LG Manoj Sinha, have attached the land measuring 7 kanals and 15 marlas, belongs to Khadim Hussain, Muneer Hussain and Mohammad Shabbir in Kandi, Gakhrote, and Panjnara areas of the district.
The properties of the persons involved in anti-India and pro-freedom activities have been attached under the black law, a police official said.
This violent and inhuman action is part of an ongoing and intensifying campaign to seize properties from Kashmiris following the revocation of IIOJK’s special status in August 2019.
Critics argue these seizures, carried out under various pretexts, are part of a broader strategy aimed at altering the demographic composition of the territory. By dispossessing local Kashmiris of their lands and homes, the Indian government seeks to marginalize them while facilitating the settlement of non-Kashmiris, thereby undermining Kashmir’s unique identity.
