‘Kuki tribes facing ethnic cleansing, gang rape and forced eviction’

Islamabad: In the troubled Indian state of Manipur, people belonging to the Kuki (Christian) tribes are facing ethnic cleansing, gang rape, murder and forced eviction from their homes.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Indian government and state authorities are directly involved in this brutal act against the Kuki people.

The Indian government has given the Methi (Hindu) community a free hand to massacre the Kukis, burn their houses and rape their women.

The administration, under Governor Biren Singh, has turned the area into a killingfield.

Earlier, Modi’s government continued to massacre the Kukis through his party’s Chief Minister Biren Singh.

The Modi government is promoting extremism in Manipur to achieve its nefarious political goals. Villages and churches of the Kuki tribes are being burned, forcing thousands of people to leave their homes.

As a result of the ethnic riots that have been going on since May 2023, more than 226 people have been killed, over 60,000 have been displaced, while a large number of homes, business centers and places of worship have been burned down.

The United Nations and other international human rights organizations have strongly condemned the serious human rights violations in Manipur.

Despite repeated warnings from the United Nations and other international human rights organizations, the Modi government is showing indifference.

It has been almost two years since the conflict between the Methi (Hindu) and Kuki (Christian) tribes in Manipur and the resulting riots.

The ongoing killings and serious human rights violations in Manipur are another worst chapter in India’s current history.
