APHC greets Pakistanis on eve of Independence Day

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has felicitated the people and Government of Pakistan on the eve of their Independence Day, August 14, to be observed tomorrow.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement in Srinagar, congratulating the people of Pakistan, said that after the tireless struggle of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the Muslims of the subcontinent, a great Muslim country came into being in the blessed month of Ramadan.
He said the creation of Pakistan was truly a wonderful gift from Almighty Allah for its people. While highlighting Pakistan’s diplomatic and political support for the Kashmir cause, he prayed for the peaceful resolution of the long-pending Kashmir dispute.
The statement said Pakistan has always supported the just cause of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and will continue its political, diplomatic and moral support to the Kashmiris’ struggle till complete success.
The other APHC leaders and parties, including jailed Moulvi Bashir Irfani, jailed Bilal Ahmad Siddiqui, jailed Fayaz Hussain Jafari, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Advocate Arshad Iqbal, Advocate Muhammad Haseeb Wani, Hafiza Fehmeeda Bano, Maulana Musaib Nadvi, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, Maulana Syed Sibte Shabbir Qummi, Nasir Ahmed Wani, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party, Muslim League Jammu and Kashmir, and Tehreek-e-Hurriyet Jammu Kashmir, in their separate statements in Srinagar, said that Pakistan is the center of hope not only for the Muslims of South Asia but also for the entire Muslim Ummah.
The leaders said: “The struggling people of Jammu and Kashmir are highly grateful to Pakistan for its all-out moral, political and diplomatic support to our just and legitimate struggle.” They expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its continued political, moral and diplomatic support to the Kashmir cause, emphasizing that durable peace cannot be established in South Asia without settling the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations and the UN resolutions.
Meanwhile, APHC Vice Chairman Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar in a statement released in Srinagar said, Pakistan’s Independence Day on 14 August is the day of thanksgiving and a day of rejoice for Kashmiris, whereas Indian Independence Day on 15 August is a black day for Kashmiris. Kashmiris consider Pakistan as their benefactor and ambassador, whereas India is regarded as an oppressor and imperialist state. While extending heartiest felicitations to Pakistan on its Independence Day, he said that Kashmiris pray for the stability, prosperity and progress of Pakistan, as a militarily strong and economically stable Pakistan is in the best interest of Kashmiris. He said that the Kashmiri people are highly grateful to the Government and people of Pakistan for their continued moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiris’ just struggle for the right to self-determination.
Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar termed Indian Independence Day a black day for Kashmiris and appealed to the people to observe strikes in the occupied territory and organize rallies in AJK, Pakistan and elsewhere in the world. He said that India has no right to observe its Independence Day as it has usurped all political, social, economic, cultural, religious and other basic rights of Kashmiris and has enslaved them on the basis of its military might.
