First snowfall likely in higher reaches of IIOJK next week: Met
Srinagar: The Meteorological Centre, Srinagar, has issued a detailed forecast for occupied Jammu and Kashmir, predicting the season’s first snowfall over higher reaches during the first week of October.
According to Kashmir Media Service, media reported that dry weather is expected from September 29 to 30 and will continue until the afternoon of October 4. However, there is a possibility of light rain, thunder, and gusty winds towards the evening or night of October 4.
From October 5–7, the weather is likely to turn cloudy with intermittent spells of light to moderate rain and thunder accompanied by gusty winds at many places.
The higher reaches of North, Central, and South Kashmir as well as Chenab Valley may experience the season’s first snowfall during this period. Weather is expected to improve again between October 8–10, with dry conditions prevailing across the Union Territory.
