LBA member dies by ‘suicide’ in Ladakh

Leh: A member of the Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) died by suicide in Leh district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the LBA member was found dead at his residence in Leh. Family members said he had been under severe emotional distress following last week’s killing of civilians by Indian forces in Leh and the detention of climate activist Sonam Wangchuk.

The deceased, survived by his wife and two children, was known to be a supporter of Sonam Wangchuk, according to LBA members.

“He admired Sonam Wangchuk and was deeply distressed after the recent violence and Wangchuk’s detention,” LBA President Chering Dorjay Lakruk told media
