APHC-AJK warns Indian belligerence poses grave threat to global peace

Delhi’s war hysteria, aggressive posturing violate UN Charter, risk South Asia

Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference-Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has expressed deep concern over the provocative and irresponsible statements issued by India’s political and military leadership against Pakistan, warning that such rhetoric poses a serious threat not only to peace and stability in South Asia but also to global security.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a statement issued by APHC-AJK Secretary Information Mushtaq Ahmad Butt said that India’s war hysteria and aggressive posturing reflect a dangerous pattern that risks pushing the region toward unnecessary confrontation and conflict. Mushtaq quoting APHC-AJK leaders as having said that such behaviour is a blatant violation of international law and the UN Charter and is unbecoming of a state that claims to be democratic and responsible.

The leaders reaffirmed that Pakistan is a responsible nuclear state that has consistently upheld the principles of peace, stability, and peaceful coexistence in the region. However, they warned that India’s provocations and obsession with military supremacy are dragging the region toward a potential crisis with far-reaching implications for international peace and the global economy. The leaders urged the United Nations and the UN Security Council to take immediate and serious notice of this reckless conduct by the Indian leadership.

The APHC leaders also drew attention to the grave human rights abuses being committed by Indian forces in occupied Jammu and Kashmir including Ladakh, including the use of excessive force against unarmed civilians, extrajudicial killings, arbitrary arrests, and collective punishments. These atrocities, they said, demonstrate New Delhi’s intent to maintain its illegal occupation through military repression and fascist policies.

The leaders observed that India is deliberately escalating regional tensions to divert attention from its internal political crises and extremist agenda. The APHC leaders stressed that lasting peace in South Asia hinges on the just and durable settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
