CCG delegation meets Mirwaiz, calls for sustained engagement on Kashmir
Mirwaiz calls for dialogue, compassion to foster peace in IIOJK

Srinagar: A delegation of the Delhi-based Concerned Citizens’ Group (CCG) led by former Indian minister Yashwant Sinha met senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, at his residence in Nigeen, Srinagar, and discussed the prevailing situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the meeting — the first of its kind since India’s illegal revocation of Article 370 in 2019 — included CCG members retired Air Vice Marshal Kapil Kak, senior journalist Bharat Bhushan, and social activist Sushobha Barve.
A statement issued from the Mirwaiz office said the discussion focused on the overall political situation in the occupied territory, humanitarian concerns, the condition of political detainees, and the need to alleviate public suffering.
The Mirwaiz appreciated the CCG’s continued interest in the Kashmir issue and stressed that dialogue, understanding, and compassion are essential for fostering peace and reconciliation. Both sides agreed that sustained engagement and open communication are necessary to build trust and create an atmosphere of stability and hope in the territory.
