Unidentified body found in Srinagar

Srinagar: The body of a man was found lying on a road in Srinagar city of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the body was spotted near the Tourist Reception Centre (TRC) in Srinagar on Thursday morning.

An official said that the body was first noticed by locals, who immediately informed the police. He added that soon after receiving the information, police reached the spot and took the body into their possession. The deceased was subsequently shifted to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Meanwhile, efforts are underway to ascertain the identity of the deceased, while proceedings under the relevant sections of law have been initiated.
