Srinagar: Indian forces’ personnel launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Srinagar city of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force and police, during the search operation, barged into hotels, guest houses, and other lodging facilities in Lal Chowk, Badshah Chowk, Residency Road, and nearby areas of the Srinagar city, conducting thorough searches and interrogating occupants. New checkpoints were also set up on roads, where commuters were frisked and vehicles inspected.
A senior Indian police officer, while speaking to media persons, claimed that the operation was part of preventive security measures and aimed at identifying any suspicious activities.
Indian troops also launched cordon and search operations in different areas of Pulwama and Samba districts. During an operation at Naner Gujar Basti in Pulwama district, one person identified as Nazir Ahmad Gani, presently working as Nambardar Naner, was arrested.
