Indian forces kill 18 in Chhattisgarh; Three Reserve Guard personnel killed

Bijapur: Indian forces killed 18 individuals during a search operation in Chattisgarh state.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the operation was conducted jointly by the District Reserve Guard, Special Task Force, and the COBRA battalion of the CRPF in Bijapur district. Indian forces claimed the deceased were Naxal insurgents.
Officials stated that three Reserve Guard personnel were also killed in the clash with Naxals, which lasted for nearly 12 hours. Inspector General of Police P Sunderraj said that the number of Naxals killed in this operation has risen to 18, while the search operation is still ongoing.
Authorities added that so far this year, 281 Naxals have been killed in clashes in Chhattisgarh—252 in seven districts of Bastar Division, 27 in Gariaband of Raipur Division, and two insurgents in Mabla of Durg Division. They also noted that 23 security personnel have lost their lives in such operations this year.
