Bangladeshi woman booked as crackdown on civilians intensifies in IIOJK

Jammu: The occupation regime in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has intensified its anti-Muslim measures, targeting civilians under the pretext of immigration enforcement.
According to Kashmir Media Service, police registered a case against a Bangladeshi woman, Happu Akhter, from Habiganj district, in Kanfar area of Chandrakot, Ramban district.
According to officials, the woman had allegedly entered India without valid travel documents and was staying for a few days. Authorities claimed she was trying to hide her identity, raising suspicions about her presence. A case was registered at Chandrakot police station under relevant sections of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, with further investigation ongoing.
However, local residents say the operation is part of a growing anti-Muslim drive, creating fear among ordinary civilians, particularly women and migrants, who are increasingly being subjected to harassment and profiling. They argue that such actions are part of India’s broader strategy to intimidate Muslim communities and marginalize vulnerable populations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
