Hoax bomb threat triggers hours-long search operation in Jammu’s Janipur court complex

Jammu: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a bomb threat received via email triggered a major security alert at the District Court Complex, Janipur, Jammu, prompting an extensive search operation.

According to court sources, two threatening emails were received on the official email ID of the District Court within a short span this morning. The first email, written in Hindi, was received at around 9:20am, followed by another in Urdu at approximately 9:31am. Both messages claimed that explosives had been planted inside the premises of the civil court.

Following the receipt of the threat emails, a bomb disposal squad, sniffer dog units, and law enforcement personnel were immediately deployed at the court complex. The teams carried out a comprehensive search of all court buildings, offices, and public areas to rule out any potential risk. The search operation, which continued for several hours under heightened security, concluded at around 3pm.

“A thorough search of the court complex was conducted, but nothing suspicious was found. The threat turned out to be a hoax,” said SHO Police Stationm Janipur, Inspector Vikram Sharma.
