India has no moral justification to celebrate its Republic Day: DFP
Ugly face of Indian democracy fully exposed: Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Democratic Freedom Party has said that India, which has consistently deprived Kashmiris of their fundamental rights, has no moral justification to celebrate its Republic Day.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement issued in Srinagar, DFP spokesman, Advocate Arshad Iqbal, while referring to India’s imperialistic presence in IIOJK and relentless repression of Kashmiris’ political and human rights, said that a country grossly involved in death and destruction in occupied Kashmir and holding its people hostage for decades has no right whatsoever to celebrate Republic Day.
He said that the entire world knows that India is a usurper which has always trampled Kashmiris’ aspirations and their democratic rights under jackboots, besides keeping them under illegal military occupation for the last over 78 years.
The DFP spokesman, while condemning the double standards of the Indian rulers, said that on the one hand the Indian leadership makes lofty claims of being the world’s largest democracy, while on the other it has deprived Kashmiris of their basic rights.
Reminding the Indian government of the promises made by its founding leaders with the people of Kashmir, he said that it was no less an authority than the first Indian prime minister who stated that “it is for the people of Kashmir to decide their own future,” a commitment he reiterated on many occasions.
He said that it was quite unfortunate that Nehru and his successors backtracked from these solemn pledges and commitments made with the people of Kashmir and instead resorted to Machiavellian intrigues that turned Kashmir into a smouldering volcano.
Terming Kashmiris’ struggle for the right to self-determination as a legitimate struggle, he said that Kashmiris, who have offered matchless sacrifices during the past several decades, would continue their struggle on all fronts until they achieve their cherished goal of freedom from Indian occupation.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said that the ugly face of Indian democracy has been fully exposed in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He asserted that India, which claims to be a democratic country, is unworthy of this title, as it has systematically suppressed the Kashmiris’ inalienable right to self-determination through brute force. He highlighted that under Indian occupation, the lives, properties, and dignigy of Kashmiris are not safe.
He further said the Modi government is executing a sinister plan to erase the distinct identity of Kashmiris and turn them into strangers in their own homeland.
The TWI spokesperson also said that this year, once again, Kashmiris will observe India’s Republic Day as a Black Day and will hold protests to denounce India’s illegal occupation and its oppressive polices.
