DFP thanks people, govt of Pakistan for expressing solidarity with Kashmiri people


‎Islamabad: The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has thanked the people and government of Pakistan for commemorating “February 5” as ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’ consistently for the last three decades.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the acting president of DFP, Mahmood Ahmed Saghar, in a statement in Islamabad termed the day as a symbol of an everlasting bond between the people of Pakistan and Kashmir. “Solidarity shown by the people of Pakistan is a vivid reflection of its allegiance with the Kashmiri people and commitment to their’ just cause”, he noted.

Describing Kashmiris’ ongoing struggle as a legitimate and indigenous movement, he said that self-determination was an inalienable right of the Kashmiris, which was guaranteed to them under multiple United Nations resolutions.

‎He reiterated that the Kashmiris were determined to continue their just struggle despite all odds.

Mahmood Ahmed Saghar said that the Kashmiri people were indebted to Pakistan for its unrelenting support for their cause and expressed optimism that the Pakistani government would vigorously engage the global community to secure an early resolution of the lingering dispute in line with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
